In the dynamic landscape of diaspora engagement, the Nigerian American Public Affairs Committee Capacity Development Initiatives (NAPAC CDI) stands as a pivotal player in fostering connections and opportunities.

April 2022, the CEO of NAPAC CDI, Madam Lara Okunubi, and the Chair of the NAPAC USA, DMVP Chapter, Dr. Opesanmi, had the distinct honor of attending the Nigerian Appointee Conference in Washington, DC.

The conference served as a nexus of intellect, leadership, and a shared commitment to the development of Nigeria. Among the distinguished personalities present were Mrs. Abike Dabiri, the Chairperson of the Nigerian in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), and Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Chairperson of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

One of the key highlights of the event was the opportunity for Madam Lara Okunubi to engage in a meaningful conversation with Mrs. Abike Dabiri. They deliberated on the diaspora's role in nation-building, discussing strategies to harness the immense potential of Nigerian professionals abroad for the development of the homeland. Mrs. Dabiri's insights into the challenges and triumphs of diaspora engagement provided valuable perspectives for NAPAC CDI's ongoing initiatives.

In a separate encounter, both Mrs. Okunubi and Dr. Opesanmi had the privilege of conversing with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a global leader and advocate for fair trade. Dr. Okonjo-Iweala's wealth of experience and vision for international collaboration underscored the importance of NAPAC CDI's efforts in fostering partnerships that transcend borders. The discussion delved into how the diaspora can play a pivotal role in supporting global economic initiatives, aligning with NAPAC CDI's commitment to being a bridge between the diaspora and impactful projects.
